AI Solutions for Document Management and Processing for Knowledge Management System (KMS)

Business Needs / Challenges

The department has set up an internal Knowledge Management System (KMS) using a commercial software to facilitate knowledge sharing. At present, the KMS contains over 10,000 documents comprising different modules of documents including registration cases, training materials and guidelines of various services. Under the existing operation, the hardcopy documents have to be scanned before uploading to the database for search and retrieval by the users. As the KMS only supports exact-match searches and has limited search functionality, the users may need to spend much time to dig out relevant cases. While there are case summaries available in KMS for quick reference, currently all case summaries are prepared manually. Given these challenges, the department would like to explore adoption of AI for the KMS.
