Modern cities face significant challenges in managing urban mobility, traffic congestion, road safety, and environmental sustainability. Traditional vehicle management systems, such as static license plates, manual tolling, and fragmented traffic monitoring, are no longer sufficient to meet the demands of growing populations and increasing vehicle usage. These outdated systems lead to inefficiencies, delays, and rising operational costs, while also failing to address emerging concerns like emissions tracking, stolen vehicle discovery, and real-time data collection for smart city initiatives. In order to to solve that problem we are proposing IPlate, which is digital license plate equipped with IoT-enabled sensors, communication modules, and real-time data processing capabilities. This IPlate will serve as a cornerstone of modern transportation systems, enabling cities to transit toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable urban environments. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the project aims to solve critical challenges faced by public organisations, drivers, and urban planners, including:

 

Traffic Congestion : Reduce delays caused by inefficient traffic signal timings and poor traffic flow management.

Manual Processes : Eliminate cumbersome manual tasks such as toll payments, parking fees, and vehicle registration renewals.

Law Enforcement : Enhance the ability to track stolen vehicles, enforce traffic laws, and respond to emergencies.

Environmental Sustainability : Monitor vehicle emissions and promote eco-friendly driving practices.
