The department manages a rank-based rostering method that follows a structured pattern include various shift rotations hours covering 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM from Monday to Friday, with some schedules extending to Saturday. Specific split-week patterns are also used to ensure that each staff member completes 88 working hours every fortnight.

Although the department regularly updates the roster to accommodate changes, the lack of a centralised online platform means there is no real-time visibility for the staff members. At present, updates are managed via online calendar, heavy manual conversion of data from Excel spreadsheets, which is time-consuming and prone to error.
