Business Needs / Challenges
The Department is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the road network. In the event of emergency landslides occurring in roadside slopes, conventional mitigation methods are labor-intensive and pose safety risks to workers. Therefore, we wish to explore the use of Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) for shotcreting to expedite slope stabilization work, shorten road-closure periods, and enhance site safety during emergency response operations.

The use of SUA for shotcreting is expected to expedite slope stabilization and mitigation efforts during emergency landslides. By leveraging advanced drone technology, concrete can be applied with increased efficiency to the target area, reducing the need for labour deployment in hazardous conditions and thereby enhancing the safety of site workers. Overall, this initiative is expected to safeguard the safety of workers and enhance the efficiency of restoration work.
