We are a CUHK team led by Prof. Irwin King, the Stanford University-ranked Top 2% AI Researcher in the world, and would like to present:Tellus, an AI-powered video interview and assessment tool designed to transform talent development and recruitment, locally built in Hong Kong. It leverages advanced AI to screen interviews—focusing on language proficiency, fluency, and attentiveness—while efficiently identifying top talent for different admission. Key features include: Personalized assessments of content, language, and presentation skills, and a unique scoring system to rank applicants based on recorded presentations.Tellus has been recognized as a finalist in the Testing and Assessment Solution category of the EdTech Awards 2025 by EdTech Digest.

As you may know, the EdTech Awards have been celebrating innovation in education technology since 2010, and past winners include prominent organizations like Adobe, Blackboard, and SMART Technologies. We believe this recognition further highlights the value Tellus could bring to improve the HR recruitment process in HK Government infrastructure with Artificial Intelligence.Other than hiring and edTech, Tellus can also be used in admission, mental health screening, and any verbal assessment.

While we can go beyond to edTech, Admission, Mental Health Screening, Market Research, Verbal Assessment, Language Teaching, Big Data Collection, Opinion Survey, Group Discussion, Focus Group, Opinion Survey etc.The more use case is on the hiring and edTech side.

Interviews are expensive, time consuming, and affected by personal biases. Based on online studies from Recruit CRM, Indeed Jobs, Legaljob, 66% of hiring time is spent on interviews, HKD36k is the average cost of hiring a candidate, 250 people respond to the average job posting.By adopting our solution to hire people, assuming a HKD70 processing cost for HK Government and taking the figures from Indeed, it lowers c. 75% cost per interview conducted (70 HKD for 1 Tellus interview vs ~270 HKD for an HR manager’s hour of time), saves 25-70 minutes per interview (20 mins for 1 Tellus interview vs 45-90 min average face-to-face interview time), and increases 200%+ interview productivity (At least 3 consecutive Tellus interviews could conclude during the time of an average 1 hour face-to-face interview.

This number could increase to dozens or hundreds per hour.).Hereby using Tellus can lower the human processing and analysis cost of the HK Government hiring team, especially in the very initial stage you received more than thousands of applications. Our platform can also conclude the hiring decision in the second and third stages.
