iPort
iPort is an AI educational toolkit for primary and secondary school students learning AI and STEAM developed by CUHK. It is an award winner of the Best Use of AI Award at the HKICT Awards 2025. Designed for students without a software or hardware background, iPort assists students in developing their own AI and STEAM projects without coding skills.
It consists of:
(1) the iTrain AI Model Training Platform, an online system that facilitates AI model training using a no‑code approach;
(2) the iPort e‑Platform, a drag‑and‑drop interface for controlling outputs and executing AI models through wireless communication; and
(3) the iPort Hardware, which receives signals and manages peripherals accordingly.
With iPort, students can train AI models without coding, plan a robot’s reactions based on AI model classification results, and complete real‑world AI applications.

iPort can be applied in education settings for students to explore and raise interest in AI and STEAM. On the other hand, it can also be applied in tailor-made interactive AI demonstrations in exhibitions. iPort was developed into two interactive AI demonstrations at “Glorious Voyage: Splendid Achievements of the People’s Republic of China in Its 75 Years” Exhibition Series at the Hong Kong Science Museum, namely Master Guess (猜拳大師) and Gesture Recognition Delivery Truck (手勢識別運貨車). Both demonstrations allow users to collect their own images and train an AI model to interact with the exhibit.
